Town Pecka is located 6 km from town of Nova Paka, on the border between two tourist regions - Giant Mountains and Czech Paradise. The village consists from eight parts -  Arnoštov, Bela u Pecky, Bukovina u Pecky, Horni Javori, Kal, Pecka, Stankov and Vidonice.
The first written mention of the village dates from 1322, and in 1382 the village Pecka was promoted to a royal town. Dominating of town is Gothic castle, but here are many other surviving cultural heritages – church St. Bartholomew, plague column from 1720 with eight statues of saints, the Baroque fountain in the square and a number of wooden cottages.
